Dr. Nancy R. Howell, who formerly taught contemporary theology at Pacific
Lutheran University, is now Academic Dean and Associate Professor of Theology
and Philosophy of Religion at Saint Paul School of Theology. Nancy has served
as co-chair of the Theology and Science Group of the American Academy of
Religion and currently works with the Steering Committee of the Religion and
Science to coordinate work on Buddhist-Christian dialogue on science and
religion. Awarded a Templeton Science-Religion Course prize in 1995 for an
undergraduate course entitled "Women, Science, and Religion," she
continues to develop courses in science and religion that focus on the social
location of the fields. Her research interests are concerned with the place of
science-religion integrations within larger contexts of gender, race, class,
and religious pluralism.
