Part 2: Developments and Current Issues in Christian Theology and Natural Science
Having surveyed a number
of the important methodological considerations in Part 1, we turn now to five
theological topics within current research. First I examine the diversity of
scholarly approaches concerning God's relation to nature. In the next two
sections, I note the importance of recent developments in cosmology and
evolutionary biology for understanding nature as God's creation. Narrowing the
lens, I then discuss the theological doctrine of anthropology in light of
evolutionary biology, anthropology, and the cognitive sciences. Finally, I
return to a broader perspective and discuss the redemption of creation in light
of evolution and cosmology.
