ArteriosclerosisAtherosclerosis is a disease in which the arteries thicken and the inner
surfaces accumulated deposits of cholesterol, fibrin, and other cellular debris.
The arteries become inelastic, and narrowed, increasing the stress on the heart,
as it tries to pump blood through. It has some hereditary links, and is
associated with increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
