Webster, RichardContemporary British
writer. Websters major works are A Brief
History of Blasphemy: Liberalism, Censorship and The Satanic Verses
and Why Freud Was Wrong: Sin, Science, and Psychoanalysis (1995).
In the latter work Webster suggests that, in various ways, Freuds
theories were not scientific but were (often Judeo-Christian) religious beliefs
in disguise.
