Chromosome
A
chromosome is a grouping of coiled strands of <!g>DNA, containing many genes. Most
multicellular organisms have several chromosomes, which together comprise the
<!g>genome. Sexually reproducing organisms have two copies of each chromosome, one
from the each parent - Humans have 23 pairs. Also see <!g>Chromatin.
