Chromosome
A
chromosome is a grouping of coiled strands of DNA, containing many genes. Most
multicellular organisms have several chromosomes, which together comprise the
genome. Sexually reproducing organisms have two copies of each chromosome, one
from the each parent - Humans have 23 pairs. Also see Chromatin.
