Richard Hayes
Richard Hayes is
executive director of the Center for Genetics and Society, in Oakland,
California, a nonprofit public affairs organization supporting responsible
social governance of the new human genetic technologies. He previously
served as national director of volunteer development, and assistant political
director for the Sierra Club, and as Chair of the Sierra Club's Global Warming
Campaign Committee. Mr. Hayes has worked as a political organizer for a wide
range of environmental and social and economic justice organizations. He is
completing a doctoral dissertation at the University of California at
Berkeley.
