Jaroslav Pelikan Jaroslav
Pelikan is the Sterling Professor Emeritus of History at Yale University where
he served on the faculty from 1962-96. He
is the immediate past president of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
He is one of the worlds leading scholars in the history of
Christianity and has authored more than 30 books including the five volume The
Christian Tradition: A History of
the Development of Doctrine (1971-89).
His 1997 book was What Has Athens
to Do With Jerusalem? Timaeus
and Genesis in Counterpoint.
