John Polkinghorne: The Friendship of Science and ReligionJohn Polkinghorne worked for many years as a theoretical elementary particle physicist. From 1968 to 1979 he was Professor of Mathematical Physics in the University of Cambridge, before resigning to train for ministry in the Church of England. He was an Anglican priest, a Fellow of the Royal Society, and knighted by the Queen in 1997.
