Marty Maddox

Marty Miller Maddox is a Research Assistant for the <!g>CTNS--Science and Religion Course Program in Berkeley, California. Currently, he is researching the creation/evolution controversy and preparing a lengthy paper that will serve as a CTNS background statement regarding the controversy. Marty is also studying for a Ph.D. in Systematic and Philosophical Theology at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley. He has shown a great interest in studying problems relating faith and reason, as well as issues regarding theological <!g>anthropology. 

Previously, Marty received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a Master of Divinity in Historical and Theological Studies from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Master of <!g>Sacred Theology from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. As an ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A., Marty has served many years as a local church pastor in Illinois and Massachusetts. Presently, Marty and his wife Cheryl reside in Berkeley, as they both look forward to continuing their careers in higher education.
