Lucretius, Titus Lucretius Carus (99/94-55/51 <!g>BCE)

Ancient Latin poet and expounder of the philosophy of <!g>Epicurus. In De Rerum Natura (On the Nature of Things), he dealt with Epicurean <!g>atomic theory, the mortality of the soul, sensation and thought, the origins and development of the world, and various natural phenomena.
